Soapstone Animal - S

Minimum order 6. The stone used in these mini sculptures are mined in the hills of Cajamarca, Perú. For many years now, members of the community that own these hills periodically do the mining. The method of mining and transporting the stone is very rustic; oftentimes the stone must be transported by foot. Due to a number of factors, the art of carving soapstone is a dying legacy. Made in Perú.
